Galette de Rois

'Galette de Rois' directly translates into 'King's Cake' in French. It is embedded with rich cultural and historical roots since medieval France

Scored in a spiraled manner on top of a sourdough layer, padded underneath is a delicate almond frangipane - A cream made from almonds, @isignystemere's butter, free-range eggs, then folded into rich vanilla cream that yields a flakey golden crust with a warm, cushiony interior.

In tradition, a fève is hidden in the cake. For which a 'king or queen' was chosen for a day, when the lucky individuals stumble upon the trinket inside the cake.

Instead of the traditional ceramic crown, we've partnered with @itchyhandceramics to curate a series of ceramic bread charms that are each meticulously crafted.
